For this marking period i would like to get a higher grade then i did my first marking period. If i fail again i don't think ill pass for the year then that means i wont graduate. I plan to actually be here on time and get all my work in. I'm also going to try and stay after when i can to get extra help so i can deffinetly get a good grade. My teacher is very understanding she said she will help me to pass her class.

Every marking period we have to read a book and by the end of the marking period we have to write about the book we read. So this week we have been looking for  a book to read it has to do with something about history. So far my book is about what the people in the army do for fun during the war. Its kind of interesting that they do things like play baseball and stuff.

The past few days we have been learning about the genocide. The genocide affected a lot of people in many different ways. We have also been talking about the Japanese not being aloud in the U.S. this marking period i have learned a lot about different things in history witch i think is really cool because i never really liked history. my teacher makes it really fun for us and helps me under stand if i dont understand something. so hopefully in the next 3 marking periods i get the good grades and learn more about world war II

Last week i wasn't really here but the day i was here we got handed a paper with questions on it. It was a pretty easy assignment because all we had to do is re write the questions and hand it in for credit. Then after we handed the paper in we started to take notes on the Korean war.  Then i came in late on Tuesday and Thursday. And on Wednesday and Friday i was in all day detention so i didnt learn anything so i will have to stay after to get what i missed.

The great migration was a cultural movement of the 1920s and early 1030s.Educated and socially conscious African Americans settled in Harlem. The Harlem Renaissance declined in the 1930s.There was a lot of tension between the white shop owners and the African American residents.There was a riot in 1935. Individuals and organizations protested marches, boycotts and refused to abide by segregation laws. Colored people had there own fountains to drink from and bathrooms, the whites also had there own so they couldn't use the same this they separated coloreds from whites. The white peoples things where a little nicer then the blacks. the segregation laws to separate blacks from whites when from riding the bus to eating in a restaurant they took place everywhere.

 This week we have been learning a lot about the cold war and finishing up the korean war. Its good to learn about new things because it expands ur thinking. Like about what they went through back then and how hard it was to be in the war fighting. To this day it is still hard to be in the war and to be away from your family and friends and not being able to come home all the time or for the holidays.

This week in history we where learning about the cold war. the yola conference started in 1945. The soviet union controlled eastern Europe. The Potsdam conference also started in 1945. Germany went into four zone occupancy France, British, U.S, and the USSR. the united nations consisted of Russia, U.S, UK, France and china. And the Churchill speech was in march of 1946. Truman was president from 1945-1953. The Berlin airlift was between 1948-1949 it was 11 months long. The U.S UK and France airlifted supplies.NATO stands for north Atlantic treaty organization. The Manhattan project started in 1945. The mao Zedong started in 1949.It took control of china.

In history this week we have been still learning about the cold war. Eisenhower was president from 1953-1961. Cia stands for central intelligence agency. Vietnam split between the 17th parallel. the Chinese supported the north and the U.S supported the south. The Warsaw treaty organization was started in 1955. The hot was was north Korea, china and Russia vs. UK, U.S and south Korea. The was lasted between 1950-1953. the space race happened in 1957. And it was the first orbiting satellite. The Khrushchev was during 1958. they demanded withdraw from Berlin. In 1959 castro took over Cuba and in 1961 they went communist.

This week in history we are still learning about  the cold war. The bay of pigs started in 1961. They failed for poor communication. The Cuban missile crisis was in 1961. It was a stand off between U.S and Russia on Cuban soil.We agreed to get rid of missiles so the Russians backed down. The berlin wall was built in a long period between 1961-1989. It was a concrete version of a blockade. Apollo 11 happened on july20, 1969. The two people who where apart of it were Neil Armstrong and buzz Aldrin. MAD stands for mutually assured destruction that was used during the arm race. LBJ was president from 1963-1969.Detente visited china in 1972. In 1976 was for independence for Portugal. Soviets and Cuba help install communist government.

In 1910 there were 10% of African Americans living in the northern states. They where usually denied entrance to the best hotels and restaurants. The Plessy vs. Ferguson witch was separate but equal happened in 1896. In 1910 W.E.B. Du Bois made powerful arguments as editor and it was called the crisis. Mostly no southern school desegregated.one county actually closed there school because it got so bad.The KKK used violence or threats against anyone favoring desegregation or civil rights. In 1955 a women named Rosa Parks refused to move her seat on the bus and since she was black she was suppose to move to let a white person sit down but since she didn't she got arrested.
